Local trail builder Gary McFarlane is the driving force behind The Ninja Gym. When not working or playing, Gary has spent the past 20+ years out in the forest building things: from developing a climbing area (Cal-Cheak, south of Whistler) that at one point included a chairlift-accessed zip line across the river and the most unusual approach trail you’ve ever seen (nicknamed Swiss Family Robinson), to adding to the famous Squamish mountain bike trail network with a selection of trails known to contain quirky wooden features and unexpected touches. Combined with many years of experience in construction, Gary is taking his imagination and attention to detail indoors, combining them with his fascination with American Ninja Warrior. The result will be the first dedicated Ninja Warrior Gym in Western Canada.
