Li Cripps immigrated to Canada in 1990 from China, met her future husband Shane at Red River College in Winnipeg in 1992. Both graduated in June of 1995, with Li taking a college instructor job in Thompson, MB shortly after. Shane followed Li a year later and also joined college as an instructor. They got married in 1997 and their son James was born in 1998. In the summer of 2000, due to program funding cut, Shane almost lost his job, that's when the idea of owning our own business was born, so that we can take full control of our own future.
