About Us

We started Websites.ca Web Design in 1999 with the idea of building a simple software so small businesses could build and update their website themselves. We soon found out that small businesses were busy enough running their business and just needed an inexpensive solution and a company to take care of the design and all of the confusing technical stuff.

Web Design

Using WordPress, we build you a great looking website that is mobile friendly and works on all screen sizes automatically. We included up to 8 hours of design time so there is no setup fee.

Hosting

We run our own Managed WordPress hosting service so we don’t have to depend on a big faceless hosting company. Our hosting is fine-tuned for speed with WordPress, fast load times, 24/7 security, and nightly backups.

Domain Name

Keep the domain name you have or we can register a new one for you. The registration and records management is included.

Email Accounts

5 email addresses matching your domain name are included with our service. If you already have email addresses you can keep using the same address and keep all of your email messages.

Google Promotion & Stats

We make sure your Google Business Profile is set up correctly for your business and you can track your website traffic and search engine performance.

Updates & Support

1 hour of website updates and support is included in our package. Just call, email, or text us with changes and we take care of them usually in a day or two.

Get in touch with us by phone, email, text, or fill out the form. Ryan will make sure we are a good fit for you and answer all of your questions.

Design/Review/Revise

We’ll collect all of the information we need to set up a new website or move your website over to our system with redesign and facelift. You’ll be able to check out the first draft through a temporary address and let us know about any changes or adjustments.

Website Launch

We’ll point your new domain name or existing domain name at your new website. No down time, just an instant switch. We’ll setup or move over any email accounts, set up or tune up your Google Business Profile, optimize the pages of your website for the search engines, and get you connected with our Support Team.

Updates, Support, and Review

You can email, call, text, or send files directly to us for any changes or additions to your website. 1 hour of help is included and we take care of changes usually in a day-or-two. You can review your traffic and search engine statistics any time, and we’ll check in every year to see how everything is going.

How much should web design and hosting cost in Toronto?

A website doesn’t have to cost thousands of dollars with a big setup fee and months of back and forth. Our Toronto web design package includes everything you need for $75/month. Try us before committing to a big setup fee.

I received a quote for thousands of dollars. How can you build a website with no setup fee?

We’ve been building websites for over 25 years and know how to get your new website up and running fast. It usually only takes us a week or two and we make sure your website looks great on any device or screen size. Try our service for free before paying thousands of dollars for a new website. If you aren’t happy and we can’t make it work, no problem, you don’t pay anything.

Are you really Canadian, or is your support department overseas?

All of our team is Canadian and our work is all done in Canada. Don’t worry about getting stuck on hold for 30 minutes and then being connected to somebody on the other side of the world who barely speaks English. Our customers get to know our team and we get to know you.

Will I show up at the top of Google?

We take care of what is called on-page SEO. That means all of the wording and phrases that the search engines use to figure out what your website is about are set up in the background of your website code in the titles, website description, and also the headlines of the pages. When your potential customers in your service area search for those words and phrases you will show up in the search results. If you aren’t in a very competitive industry where your competitors are spending hundreds or thousands of dollars per month on website promotion, like almost all of our customers, your website will show up at or near the top of the first page with our on-page SEO service.

Can I keep my domain name and email addresses?

If you already have a domain name or email addresses, yes you can keep them. We can even move them over to our system and manage them for you. One domain name and 5 matching email addresses are included in our $75/month service so we pay the year bill for you.

Do you take care of hosting and website traffic statistics?

Yes, we take care of hosting your website, that includes nightly backups, software updates, security, and optimizing your website to load lightning-fast. We can also set your website up with Google Analytics with the Google Site Kit plugin for WordPress so you can see all of the important website traffic and search engine performance statistics easily and conveniently.

Have you built websites in my area or in my industry?

Almost certainly. We have built over 5,000 websites in more than 800 cities and towns across Canada in every province and territory and every industry imaginable. Get in touch with us and we can show you some examples and we can give you some suggestions on getting the best results for your industry.

Can I update my website myself?

Yes, we use WordPress to build our website. WordPress is designed for people with no computer programming knowledge to be able to easily update their website. We can even walk you through how it works. Even better, almost all of our customers just call or email with updates and changes and we take care of everything – fast, and it’s included with our $75/month service.

What if I need more help with e-commerce, more design time, or more email accounts?

12 hours of updates and support are included without service. If you need more help above that, no problem. You buy extra blocks of 5 or 10 hours of support and updates and those hours never expire. An extra domain name is $30/year and extra email accounts are $15/month for 5 extra 25GB accounts.
