all day diner, 24/7 restaurant, Trukker's Restaurant opened September1, 1988 under the ownership of John (Cowboy) Wong of Calgary. John and his family relocated to Medicine Hat a d built a very successful business based on good food at a fair price and a strong staff. Many employees have come and gone but 1 is still with Trukkers. Marg Sturm was hired as a lead line cook and still does the same job as Trukker's celebrates it's 25th anniversary on September 1, 2013. Most staff at Trukker's stay for long periods because of the fun and friendly atmosphere. John Wong retired on September 1, 2008 when he sold Trukker's Restaurant to Don and Deni Watson of Redcliff. Trukker's continues as one of Alberta's and Canada's top performing 24 hour restaurants. Situated half way between Vancouver and Winnipeg it is a natural location for Truckers and highway travelers along The Trans Canada Highway to catch a bite. Locals in the area support Trukker's Restaurant because of the consistently good quality food at very reasonably prices.
