Tegs Tools started back in 1979. Leo and Esther, together with their sons Moishe and Mike, sold tools stocked in their basement at six local flea markets every week. As demand grew they rented a small warehouse on King St, and then decided to sell from there as well. In 1980 they moved to Ottawa St. and in 1982 they moved again to their current location on Barton St. Once settled in, they decided to concentrate their efforts at the store and stopped the flea market circuit for good. They continued to grow and in 1983 they added an additional 3500 sq. ft to the existing 1600 sq. ft. location.
