Great food... Good times!

On January 12, 2004 I was driving from Deland, Florida, where I had been living for the past 7 years, to open Idle Thyme Resturant in Traverse Bay Manitoba.

All of my customers would come in and ask if I was crazy. "You left Florida to come back to Manitoba?"

Well, I am sure glad that I did.

Now, I am heading into my fourth year at the helm of Idle Thyme and I am truly enjoying my life - working and living here.

I have a loyal customer base, many of whom have become good friends. We are a big family here at Traverse Bay. We love to hear and share in the everyday aspects of life, from how the work is progressing on the home you are building, to the latest exploits of your children or grandchildren. We often hear about what the husband has done and sometimes we hear what the husband thinks his wife has done.

At Idle Thyme we make everything from scratch. Handmade burger patties, home cut French fries, soup made from scratch daily. We bake our own pies and muffins as well. We cater to vegetarians and celiac customers.
